Hi, friends. I hope you all had a nice weekend. It's been two weeks since DJ and I received the final dose of our COVID-19 vaccines, making us officially, fully vaccinated. So, I thought I'd share some photos from our first weekend as vaccinated people!
We celebrated with our first real date night in over 1 year! We went to one of our favorite restaurants, M.Sushi. It felt weird and a little wrong sitting inside without masks (once seated). But we tried to shake it off and enjoy the opportunity to return to something we love so much: going out and enjoying delicious food together :)
The next day, we took the pups and headed to South Carolina to spend time with DJ's family for Mother's Day. We went out on the boat, cooked good food, and basked in the gorgeous weather. Everyone there was vaccinated. At first, it felt a little odd to be in a house with so many maskless people. But honestly, the feeling faded fast. It felt easy and natural to enjoy the company of others once again.
We're grateful for the opportunity to be vaccinated and are gravely aware that this privilege is not yet accessible to all. The pandemic certainly isn't over, but we're taking all the moments of joy and social connection we can get.
For more information about the vaccine, there's lots of resources available from the World Health Organization. As many of you know, India is in a particularly devastating state of crisis. Stay safe,
Natasha
